Northern Portrait is an indie pop band hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark. Known for their jangly guitar sound, evocative lyrics, and melodious compositions that hark back to the golden era of British guitar pop, Northern Portrait firmly rooted its presence in the indie music scene with their debut EP "The Fallen Aristocracy," released in 2008. The band was founded the same year they signed with the celebrated indie record label Matinée Recordings, which became the home for much of their subsequent work.

The band's music reflects influences from classic indie pop bands like The Smiths, with lead singer Stefan Larsen's voice often compared to that of Morrissey's.
