The Angels

The Angels were an American girl group best known for their 1963 chart-topping hit "My Boyfriend's Back." Formed in New Jersey in the early 1960s, the original lineup included sisters Barbara and Phyllis Allbut and lead singer Linda Jansen, later replaced by Peggy Santiglia. Their sweet harmonies and catchy pop hooks quickly made them favorites during the early days of the girl group era.

With their signature sound and sassy lyrics, The Angels carved out a place in pop music history. "My Boyfriend's Back" became an anthem of female empowerment and teen drama, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. While they never matched the massive success of that single, The Angels continued to perform and record, earning their status as one of the memorable acts of the 1960s girl group movement.
