Mick Taylor

Mick Taylor is widely recognized as a profoundly skillful guitarist, whose career gained monumental prominence during his tenure with The Rolling Stones. Born on January 17, 1949, in Welwyn Garden City, England, Taylor began his career with the blues band John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, where his sophisticated guitar work caught the attention of the Stones. He joined them in 1969, following the departure of founding member Brian Jones, and his tenure with the band, which lasted until 1974, saw him contribute to some of their most acclaimed albums, including "Sticky Fingers" and "Exile on Main St." His fluid melodic style and bluesy virtuosity carved out a distinctive place for him in the pantheon of guitar greats.

After leaving the Stones, Taylor embarked on a solo career, collaborating with numerous artists and experimenting with a broad range of genres. His later work, as reflected in albums such as "1 Night Only" and "Ride The Wave," display his continued dedication to his craft and his versatility as a musician. "Keepin It Real" and "Feeding the Machine" further showcase an artist unafraid to explore and evolve, even as he maintains the core blues-rock essence that has always been a hallmark of his style. With his foray into world music through "Classical Sitar," Taylor reveals the breadth of his influences, while collaborations like "Shadow Man" with Sasha Gracanin highlight his ongoing relevance and adaptability in contemporary music. Mick Taylor's legacy is not only that of a former Rolling Stone but also that of a musician's musician who continues to inspire with his deft, soulful playing and his continuous pursuit of musical expression.
