Kirlian Camera

Kirlian Camera is an Italian electronic and experimental band founded in Parma in 1980 by keyboardist/vocalist Angelo Bergamini, the only constant member throughout the years. Their music, often shrouded in mystery and imbued with dark, ethereal atmospheres, encompasses a wide array of genres including dark wave, synthpop, and gothic. The name "Kirlian Camera" was inspired by the Kirlian photography technique, which supposedly captures the aura of living beings, hinting at the band's fascination with the unseen and the occult.

Over the years, Kirlian Camera has seen several lineup changes, with singers such as Simona Buja and Emilia Lo Jacono contributing significantly to the band's haunting vocal dimension. The addition of singer Elena Alice Fossi in 1999 marked a significant era as her voice became integral to their sound profile, often combining enchanting melodies with avant-garde and cinematic elements. With a discography rich in both thematic and sonic exploration, the band has carved out a distinct niche in the electronic music scene, attracting a devoted fanbase. Albums like "Hologram Moon" highlight Kirlian Camera’s capacity for evolving and embracing contemporary sounds while maintaining the enigmatic and sophisticated essence that has defined their career over the decades.
