Lei Di Dai is a celebrated Brazilian singer and songwriter known as the "Queen of Dancehall" in Brazil, a title bestowed upon her by Rolling Stone magazine. Hailing from the eastern side of São Paulo, she began her professional singing career in 1998 with the band Camarão na Brasa, performing jazz, hip hop, and reggae before launching her solo career in 2005 under the name Lei Di Dai.
Her music is a vibrant blend of dancehall, reggae, and Afro-Brazilian rhythms, earning her international recognition and a devoted following. Over her solo career spanning more than 16 years, she has released four albums, including the acclaimed "Alpha & Omega" (2008), and has toured extensively in Europe and beyond. Lei Di Dai is also known for her social engagement, founding the "Gueto pro Gueto" sound system project to spread reggae culture in São Paulo's periphery.
