vegas water taxi is a UK-based indie band formed in 2022 by Ben Hambro, previously of Lazarus Kane, alongside drummer Leo Lawton. The group quickly grew to include Fred Lawton and Charlie Meyrick, with Molly Shields also appearing among recent core members on some lineups. The project began as a more introspective, lyrically-focused venture after the breakup of Ben’s former band, blending influences from country, indie, and rock with a wry, storytelling edge. Their debut album, “things are gonna be alright,” self-released in late 2023 and later expanded with live tracks, captivated listeners with its mix of humor, self-awareness, and emotional resonance, establishing vegas water taxi as a word-of-mouth favorite in the London underground scene.

Their sound is both stripped-back and lively, with songwriting inspired by the likes of David Berman and Courtney Barnett, finding depth in mundane details and everyday life. The band’s live energy has helped them sell out venues like The Lexington and open for artists such as Katy J Pearson. They’ve signed with PNKSLM Recordings, who are reissuing their debut on vinyl, and continue to record new music for future release.
