Despite graduating in dentistry in 1987, he continued to pursue his love for music, blending caipira influences with MPB, instrumental Brazilian music, jazz, and flamenco. His compositions have been featured in documentaries and TV shows, such as *O Encanto das Águas* and *Terra da Gente*. In 2009, he was nominated for a Latin Grammy.
