Timeflies is an American pop band formed in October 2010 by producer Rob "Rez" Resnick and vocalist Cal Shapiro. The duo met while attending Tufts University in Massachusetts, where they started off creating music in their dorm rooms and quickly built a loyal fanbase through their innovative covers and blends of popular songs infused with their own unique spin. They gained fame for their genre-blending musical style, which mixes elements of pop, electronic music, and hip-hop, along with Cal's improvised freestyle rapping which often incorporates current events and fan-suggested topics.
The duo's breakthrough came with their 2011 YouTube release, "Under the Influence," and they continued to build a strong online presence with their weekly "Timeflies Tuesday" series where they would cover current hits, often adding their own original rap verses. Their debut album, "The Scotch Tape," dropped in September 2011, and they hit commercial success in 2014 with the release of their album "After Hours" which included hit singles such as "All the Way" and "Monster". Over time, they've continued to expand their discography with a mix of albums, EPs, and remixes, showcasing their versatility and connection to their audience through their relatable lyrics and catchy melodies. Some of their recent works include tracks like "First Time," "Back When We Were Kids," and "Little Bit" with several remixes, reflecting their continued evolution and presence in the pop and electronic music scenes.
