Ym:Stammen was a Norwegian band known for blending post-punk with ethnic influences. Formed in 1983 by Trygve Mathiesen, the group was active until the late 1990s. Their music often drew inspiration from Viking myths and poetry, setting them apart in the music scene. Some of their notable releases include "Dvergmål," "Enøyd," "Ulv Ulv," and "Guden I Steinen." The band's unique sound shared similarities with other Norwegian acts like Bel Canto and Gåte. Their last album gained commercial success, partly due to the hit single "Store Alexander," which featured Bertine Zetlitz on vocals.
Ym:Stammen's style was distinct, combining elements of folk and world music with post-punk, creating a captivating and eclectic sound that resonated with fans during their active years.
