Dead Selves is a post-punk band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2015, the band consists of vocalist and guitarist Ryan Rousseau, bassist and vocalist Emily Kempf, and drummer Mario Hernandez. Their music is characterized by its dark, atmospheric sound, with Rousseau's haunting vocals and Kempf's driving basslines creating a sense of unease and tension. Dead Selves have released two full-length albums, "The City Below" (2017) and "The World Is Our Witness" (2020), as well as a number of singles and EPs. They have toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, and have shared the stage with bands such as The Cure, Interpol, and Editors.
