Arkhaaik

Arkhaaik is a Swiss blackened death/doom metal trio from Zürich, known for blending ritualistic and primitive elements with extreme metal. Formed around 2015-2016 by musicians including Menetekel, Karapan Darvish, and later drummer Voidgaunt, the band creates a heavy, atmospheric sound that evokes prehistoric and Bronze Age themes. Their music features thunderous drums, ferocious vocals, and guitars used rhythmically rather than melodically, crafting a dense, primal atmosphere reminiscent of ancient ritualistic ceremonies.

Their sophomore album *Uihtis* (2025), meaning "the hunt," is a concept record exploring Bronze Age hunting culture both literally and metaphorically. With four extended tracks, the album mixes tribal drums, eerie choirs, and nature sounds alongside blackened blast beats and death/doom riffs to immerse listeners in a primeval, harsh world. The lyrics were even reconstructed with the help of an Indo-European languages expert to deepen the authentic feel of the prehistoric concept. Arkhaaik's music stands out for its unique fusion of metal ferocity with ritualistic, ancient storytelling.
