Have Heart

Have Heart was a hardcore punk band based out of New Bedford, Massachusetts, known for their passionate and emotionally charged music coupled with a strong ethical message. The band was formed in 2002, with members Pat Flynn on vocals, Ryan Hudon on guitar, Ryan Briggs on bass, Kei Yasui on second guitar, and Shawn Costa on drums. Have Heart quickly developed a reputation for their intense live performances and their authentic embodiment of hardcore's core principles: sincerity, integrity, and brotherhood.

The band's discography speaks to the growth and evolution of their sound and their ability to articulate profound personal and social messages through music. "What Counts," their debut EP released in 2004, laid the groundwork for their high-energy sound that resonated with fans of the genre. This was followed by their first full-length album, "The Things We Carry," in 2006, which became a hallmark in modern hardcore, praised for its uncompromising lyrics and powerful delivery. In 2008, Have Heart released "Songs To Scream At The Sun," a critical success that showed further depth and maturity in their writing and composition. After a relentless touring schedule and establishing a worldwide fanbase, Have Heart concluded their journey with "10.17.09," a live album that captured the raw electricity and emotional intensity of their final show. The band's last release, "Lions And Lambs," a 7" containing their final recorded songs, served as a coda to their influential career. Despite their disbandment in 2009, Have Heart’s legacy endures, continuing to inspire and shape the landscape of hardcore music.
