Merry Hell

Merry Hell is an English folk-rock band with a vibrant and socially conscious edge, widely recognized for their infectious melodies and poignant lyrics. Formed in 2010 from the ashes of the cult band The Tansads, Merry Hell consists of Andrew Kettle (lead vocals), brothers John Kettle (guitar, vocals) and Bob Kettle (mandola, mandolin, vocals), and their sister Virginia Kettle (vocals, guitar), along with Nick Davies (bass), Lee Goulding (keyboards), and Andy Jones (drums). The band's music blends traditional folk instrumentation with elements of rock and pop, creating a distinctive sound that has resonated with audiences across the UK.

With an impressive discography that reflects their prolific creativity, Merry Hell has won over fans and critics alike. Their album "Bloodlines," released in 2016, was a powerful exploration of family, heritage, and the ties that bind us. Follow-up albums such as "Blink... And You Miss It" and "Head Full of Magic, Shoes Full of Rain" further cemented their reputation for crafting thoughtful, reflective songs that are both personal and universal. The band's most recent work, "Emergency Lullabies" (2020), continues their tradition of addressing contemporary issues within their music, underscoring the band's ambition to not only entertain but inspire and provoke consideration on pressing social and environmental matters. With anthems like "Leave It in the Ground" and "Sister Atlas," Merry Hell has become a powerful voice in modern folk music, known for energetic live performances and their unwavering commitment to storytelling through song.
