Domingo Jonhy Vega Urzúa, known professionally as Américo, is a prominent Chilean singer and musician whose melodious voice has become synonymous with the sounds of cumbia and tropical music in Latin America. Born on December 24, 1977, in Arica, Chile, Américo is the son of singers Melvin "Corazón" Américo and María de la Luz Urzúa, thus he was ingrained with a passion for music from a very young age. He catapulted to fame in the mid-2000s and became especially well-known after the release of his album "A Morir" in 2008, which catapulted him to the top of Latin American music charts.

Throughout his career, Américo has showcased an outstanding ability to blend contemporary Latin rhythms with the traditional sounds of cumbia, creating a unique and infectious musical style. His extensive repertoire includes hits that have marked significant moments in his career, such as "Te Vas," "Que Levante la Mano," and "El Embrujo."
