The McCoys

The McCoys are the rock 'n' roll band that brought us the iconic 1965 hit "Hang On Sloopy." Hailing from Union City, Indiana, these guys knew how to capture the carefree spirit of the '60s with their infectious melodies and simple, catchy lyrics. The original band lineup featured brothers Rick Derringer (then known as Rick Zehringer) on guitar and vocals, and Randy Zehringer on drums, alongside bassist Randy Jo Hobbs.

Their meteoric rise to fame was fueled by “Hang On Sloopy,” a song that remains a timeless classic and an anthem of its era. The McCoys quickly became a staple on the charts, filling the airwaves with their feel-good rock vibes. Though their peak was brief, their influence on rock and pop music left an enduring groove that we can still jam to today.
