Enchantment

Enchantment is a smooth soul and R&B group that emerged from Detroit, Michigan in the mid-1970s. Known for their lush vocal harmonies and romantic ballads, the group found success with hits like "Gloria" and the tender slow jam "It's You That I Need," which became a signature track and reached the top of the R&B charts in 1977. Their sound blended classic soul with orchestral arrangements and the mellow vibe characteristic of the quiet storm radio format that was gaining popularity at the time.

Led by lead singer Emanuel "EJ" Johnson, Enchantment released a series of albums throughout the late '70s and early '80s, including Once Upon a Dream and Journey to the Land Of...Enchantment. These records helped establish them as a staple of the smooth soul era. Although their mainstream visibility waned in later years, their music continues to resonate with fans of classic R&B, and their timeless romantic grooves have kept their legacy alive on old-school radio and in the hearts of soul aficionados.
