Transplants are an American punk rock/rap rock supergroup formed in 1999, notably comprised of Tim Armstrong (Rancid), Travis Barker (Blink-182), and Rob Aston. Notorious for blending a variety of genres including hip hop, reggae, and rock with punk's raw energy, Transplants have crafted an eclectic and defiant sound that pushes the boundaries of each member's musical past. Their self-titled debut album "Transplants" landed in 2002, astounding listeners with its fusion of aggressive punk rock and catchy hooks, underscored by Armstrong's gritty vocals and Barker's relentless drumming, with Aston adding a distinct lyrical assertiveness.
Over the years, the band has been known for sporadic activity due to the members' commitments to their primary projects. However, they have managed to release several more albums, with "Haunted Cities" in 2005 following up their debut with even more ferocity and experimentation. After a hiatus, they returned with "In A Warzone" in 2013, which kept their core sound intact while confronting social and political issues head-on. Their most recent release, the EP "Take Cover" in 2017, consisted of covers that the band made unquestionably their own, once again showcasing their ability to meld genres and pay homage to their influences while maintaining a rebellious and distinct Transplants identity.
