Thomas Mapfumo and The Blacks Unlimited is a pioneering Zimbabwean band led by the legendary vocalist and songwriter Thomas Mapfumo. Known as "The Lion of Zimbabwe," Mapfumo is credited with creating and popularizing Chimurenga music—a style that blends traditional Shona music with modern instrumentation and socially conscious lyrics.
