Nazareth is a Scottish hard rock band that formed in Dunfermline, in 1968. The group gained international fame in the 1970s with hits such as "Love Hurts," "Hair of the Dog," and "Razamanaz." Their sound is characterized by a gritty, blues-influenced style of rock with a hard edge. Nazareth's lineup originally consisted of Dan McCafferty (vocals), Manny Charlton (guitars), Pete Agnew (bass), and Darrell Sweet (drums). Over the years, the band has undergone several lineup changes, with Pete Agnew remaining the sole continuous original member.
Throughout their career, Nazareth has released a prolific number of albums, with their most recent work showing a commitment to their classic sound while evolving with the times. "Surviving the Law," "Tattooed on My Brain," and "Rock 'n' Roll Telephone" are among their latter-day releases, showcasing their capability to craft new material well into the 21st century. Despite changes in the music industry and the passing of original lead singer Dan McCafferty due to health issues, Nazareth has continued to record and tour, solidifying their status as rock veterans. Their dedication to their craft and their fans is evident in their continued production, including re-recorded versions of their timeless hits like "Love Hurts," appealing to both new and long-standing audiences.
