Sora Shima

Sora Shima is a New Zealand-based post-rock band formed in 2006, hailing from the Waikato region. They are known for their atmospheric and instrumental soundscapes, often described as "dark and dreamy." The band has released several notable works, including the albums "You Are Surrounded" (2014) and "LOVEYOU" (2010), along with EPs like "Destroy Electronica" (2008), "Spinetingler" (2007), and "Distancing" (2007). Sora Shima has shared the stage with prominent bands in the post-rock scene, such as Jakob and Mono. After a period of hiatus, they have recently revived their activity, releasing new music like "At the Edge of Hope Is Despair" and working on fresh material.

The band's lineup includes Gavin McDermott on drums, Jason Lurman on guitar, Liam Clancy on bass, and Nicholas Johnston on keys. Their music often features complex instrumental arrangements, creating a captivating and immersive listening experience.
