Dicko Fils

Dicko Fils, born Moulaye Dicko in 1975 near Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, is a renowned Burkinabé musician and singer. He is known for his mastery of the kamale n'goni, a traditional Malian stringed instrument. Dicko Fils' musical journey began when he was sent to Mali at the age of 11 to study in a Koranic school, where he was deeply influenced by the griot traditions of artists like Salif Keita and Oumou Sangaré. Later, in Abidjan, he developed a passion for reggae, which led him to form his first band, Le Faso Kanou, and release his debut album in 2005.

Throughout his career, Dicko Fils has blended traditional African rhythms with modern beats, creating a distinctive sound that resonates globally. His music often explores themes of love, peace, and tradition, and he has gained recognition for his melodic vocals and virtuosity on the n'goni. Some of his notable works include the albums "Tounga," "Lada Koro," "Farafina," "Sabadou," and "Fina Tawa," which features the hit song "Denke Denke." Dicko Fils has performed at numerous international festivals and has been awarded several honors, including the Knight's Order of Merit from the Ministry of Culture of Burkina Faso and the Golden Kundé award.
