Moon Relay

Moon Relay is a Norwegian quartet known for their eclectic and experimental approach to music. The band consists of guitarists Daniel Meyer Grønvold and Håvard Volden, bassist Ola Høyland, and drummer Martin Larsen. They debuted with an instrumental mini-album in 2013, showcasing a range of styles from industrial to cosmic sounds. Over the years, Moon Relay has explored diverse genres, often incorporating elements of post-rock, noise, and dissonant industrial dance. Their albums often feature avant-garde compositions, with song titles sometimes represented by special ASCII characters, as seen in their 2014 release. The band's music is characterized by its use of harsh dissonance and a blend of tribal psychedelic sounds with syncopated funk and jazz elements, as evident in their 2018 album "IMI".

In more recent works, like the double-LP "_...-``-..._" from 2020, Moon Relay collaborated with visual artists, exploring a broader spectrum of musical influences. This collaboration resulted in a blend of minimalist symphonies and cosmic music, with tracks featuring propulsive and discordant elements. Despite this diverse musical journey, Moon Relay remains committed to pushing the boundaries of experimental music with their unique soundscapes.
