Duleswar Tandi

Duleswar Tandi, also known by his stage name Dule Rocker, is a rapper and social commentator from Odisha's Kalahandi district who gained national attention with his powerful music addressing social and political issues. Born into a challenging environment, Duleswar initially aspired to be a doctor but had to give up his dreams due to financial hardships in his family. After completing a BSc in chemistry, he worked as a migrant laborer and part-time construction worker, experiences that deeply influenced his music. His breakout came during the COVID-19 lockdown when his rap about the struggles of migrant workers in his native Kalahandia dialect went viral, shining a light on the hardships faced by marginalized communities.

Duleswar’s music is not about entertainment or party vibes; rather, it serves as a voice for the oppressed and marginalized, tackling themes such as caste discrimination, farmers' protests, and frontline workers' treatment. His debut album, *Annihilation of Caste*, inspired by BR Ambedkar, reflects his commitment to highlighting government injustices and empowering ordinary citizens to question authority. His journey from a small village with limited means to becoming a noted voice for social change in Odisha’s rap scene has even attracted support from established artists and local studios eager to help him share his message further.
