Charles McPherson

Charles McPherson is a highly respected American jazz alto saxophonist, best known for his work in the bebop tradition. Born in 1939, he came to prominence in the 1960s as a longtime member of Charles Mingus’s band, where his lyrical phrasing and strong grasp of bebop language earned him wide acclaim.
