Mestre Calango, whose real name is Sebastiao Felix, is a renowned figure in the world of Capoeira. He began his journey with Capoeira music and movements at the age of seven in his native town in the state of Piaui, Brazil. Mestre Calango received his formatura in the U.S. under Mestre Acordeon in the late '90s and was titled Mestre in the early 2000s. He has been teaching Capoeira since he was 18 years old and has taught in various locations including Chicago, Colorado, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Brazil, and has been associated with the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts since 2002. His involvement in Capoeira extends beyond teaching, as he has participated in numerous workshops, shows, and films worldwide.
