Railroad Earth

Railroad Earth is an American roots and Americana-based newgrass jam band that hails from Stillwater, New Jersey. Their music weaves together elements of bluegrass, rock and roll, jazz, Celtic, and more, creating a distinct sound that has captivated audiences since their formation in 2001. The band takes their name from the Jack Kerouac short story "October in the Railroad Earth" and consists of talented multi-instrumentalists, which has contributed to their dynamic and improvisational live performances that have become a staple of their identity.

The ensemble gained rapid recognition with their self-titled debut album, "Railroad Earth," and they have since released a rich catalog of music that showcases their versatility and musical prowess. Their most recent releases, including "All For the Song" and "The Great Divide," exemplify their ability to craft poignant lyrics paired with intricate instrumental arrangements. All the while, live recordings like "Live Tracks: Horn O' Plenty 11.30.19" capture the energy and spirit of their concerts, providing a glimpse of the exceptional musicianship and communal experience that are central to the band's enduring appeal. With a devoted fan base and a relentless touring schedule, Railroad Earth continues to enchant listeners with their storytelling and the seamless fusion of traditional acoustic and modern sounds.
