Leeland

Leeland is a Christian rock band from Baytown, Texas that formed in 2004. The band was originally comprised of Leeland Mooring (lead vocals, guitar), his brother Jack Mooring (backing vocals, keyboard), their cousin Jake Holtz (bass), and close friend Mike Smith (drums). Their sound is known for seamlessly blending alternative rock with a worshipful thrust, characterized by ethereal atmospheres and poignant lyricism. Leeland quickly gained recognition in the Christian music scene with their Grammy-nominated debut album, "Sound of Melodies" (2006), which showcased their ability to craft spiritually uplifting songs with a contemporary edge.

Over the years, Leeland's lineup has seen changes, but Leeland Mooring has remained the centerpiece and driving force behind the band's creative output. The band has continued to deliver powerful worship anthems and has expanded their discography with several acclaimed albums. Their most recent releases, such as "The Name of the Lord (Live)" and "Way Maker", exemplify the band’s dedication to creating worshipful experiences that resonate with audiences, both live and in recorded settings. The band's single, "Way Maker," became widely popular in Christian circles, further cementing Leeland’s influence in the genre. With their heartfelt performances and consistent focus on spiritual themes, Leeland continues to be a beacon of inspiration and hope in the world of Christian music.
