Monika Knoblochová is a distinguished Czech harpsichordist known for her deep engagement with early and contemporary classical music. After graduating from the Prague Conservatoire, she pursued advanced studies in harpsichord at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under Giedrė Lukšaitė-Mrázková, complemented by mentorship from Zuzana Růžičková. Further honing her craft, she studied at prestigious institutions including the Dresdner Akademie für Alte Musik, Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, and Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich. She completed her postgraduate doctoral studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 2011. Throughout her career, Monika has garnered numerous awards such as the third prize at the Prague Spring competition and the Davidoff Prix in 2002. She is also an active recording artist, performing works by composers like Bohuslav Martinů, J. S. Bach, Leopold Koželuh, and others. Beyond performing, she contributes to the music world as an educator at the Academy of Ancient Music (Masaryk University in Brno) and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She also founded the innovative concert series "Hudební salón Café crème," blending early and contemporary music with spoken word, dance, and theatre since 2008.

She has recorded notable works such as Martinů’s harpsichord compositions, Bach’s Goldberg Variations and Cello Sonatas, and trios by Leopold Koželuh. Her artistic versatility is further highlighted by collaborations in ensembles like Duo Seraphim and Resonance. With over two decades of teaching experience and a commitment to creatively merging old and new musical styles, Monika Knoblochová stands as a vital figure in today’s classical music scene.
