Gary Hector

Gary Hector is a seasoned singer-songwriter from Trinidad and Tobago with a career spanning over three decades. He first made waves in the early 1990s by forming the band Oddfellows Local, becoming a pioneering voice in Trinidad’s alternative rock scene with songs like "Arrest Arrest," inspired by the 1990 Jamaat al Muslimeen coup attempt. Later, he founded the rock band Jointpop, known for its eclectic mix of styles and socially conscious lyrics that resonated both locally and internationally.

More recently, Gary has ventured into a unique blend of Americana, folk, and country music, with albums like *National Trash* and *Memphis Medicine* showcasing his distinctive sound—a fusion of Trinidadian influences and old-school country vibes. His songwriting is noted for storytelling that touches on personal and social themes, delivered with a relaxed, authentic vocal style.
