Elsewhere

Elsewhere is a Boston-based **prog-leaning alt/power-pop/new wave** trio that’s been quietly building a reputation for big hooks, big ideas, and a distinctly throwback-meets-modern sound. Blending the **energy and raw angst of punk** with the ambition and textures of classic prog and new wave, they’ve earned a devoted following in New England and beyond through a steady run of EPs, singles, and their 2010 album **1981**. Their cover of the Buzzcocks’ “**Don’t You Believe Me Baby**” became a calling card, showcasing the band’s knack for channeling vintage influences while still sounding fresh and emotionally direct.

In recent years Elsewhere has pushed hard into concept-album territory with their ambitious rock epic **Life…is a Fraction**, a ten-track, semi-autobiographical narrative inspired in part by a troubling medical diagnosis and a “fractional theory of incremental time perception.” Influenced by prog legends like **Rush, Yes, and Genesis**, the record marks a creative high point for the band, tying together earlier releases like the **Multi-Man** EP and singles such as **Call You Out** and **The Pledge** into a bigger, more cinematic vision of what Elsewhere can be.
