Young Piva

Young Piva, whose real name is Samuel Luango Sanches Vida, is a rapper, singer, and composer from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. He emerged in the music scene in 2020 and has become a prominent figure in the soteropolitana hip-hop community. Born into a family of black activists, Young Piva's artistry is deeply rooted in his cultural heritage, drawing influences from African music, candomblé traditions, and hip-hop. His music often reflects on the experiences of young black people in Salvador, addressing themes of struggle and resilience.

Young Piva has collaborated with notable artists like Baco Exu do Blues and Dactes. His notable releases include the EP "Encruzilhada," which highlights his blend of cultural influences and contemporary themes. He was also the first artist signed to the 999 label, a project spearheaded by Baco Exu do Blues in partnership with Sony Music Brasil. Young Piva has performed at significant festivals, such as Afropunk and Rock in Rio, further solidifying his position in the Brazilian music landscape.
