Peter De Jager

Peter de Jager is a lively force in Australia’s music scene, known for a rare mix of technical brilliance, creative curiosity, and genre-hopping versatility—whether he’s diving into Bach on harpsichord, premiering monumental modern piano works, or spinning out his own compositions. He especially lights up the stage (and the studio) with collaborative spirit, playing everything from concertos and chamber works to supporting students as an accompanist on AMEB exam albums—which his recent releases like Traces and the AMEB Series for cello, clarinet, and trumpet clearly reflect. Peter has racked up accolades like the “Performance of the Year” for tackling Chris Dench’s epic sonata, and he’s just as comfortable in cabaret and musical theatre, having co-written the cheeky Reception: The Musical with Bethany Simons. These days, you’ll find him inspiring the next generation as an Associate Artist at the Australian National Academy of Music while still popping up as a soloist and collaborator with Australia’s leading ensembles.
