Thorsten Quaeschning

Thorsten Quaeschning is a German musician, composer, and producer best known as a long-time member and current bandleader of the legendary electronic group Tangerine Dream. He joined the band in the early 2000s, initially working behind the scenes before becoming a core member under the guidance of founder Edgar Froese. Quaeschning has played a key role in carrying on Tangerine Dream’s legacy following Froese’s passing, helping to shape their modern sound with a blend of analog synth textures and cinematic atmospheres.

Beyond his work with Tangerine Dream, Quaeschning is active in solo and collaborative projects, often exploring ambient, experimental, and instrumental electronic music. He’s released several soundtracks and live session albums under his own name and with his project Picture Palace Music. With a deep knowledge of vintage synthesizers and a passion for evolving soundscapes, Thorsten continues to be a vital force in the contemporary electronic music scene.
