Big Fish

Big Fish is a Swedish experimental rock band founded by four teenagers in Uppsala in 1988, following a trip to West Berlin. The band's early sound was heavily influenced by the avant-garde scene, initially featuring vocals, upright bass, samplers, and scrap metal percussion. In 1990, they added guitars, shifting towards a more punk-rock sound while maintaining elements of industrial music, jazz, blues, metal, and folk. Big Fish was part of the emerging local music scene in the 90s, touring extensively and releasing several albums, including "Hydrology," "Död mans vals," "Vargavinter," "Dans mot tiden," and "Sånger ur sten." After disbanding in 1997, the band reunited in 2016 for select shows and more actively in 2022 with the release of "Kalla döda drömmar." Recently, they have been producing new material, with singles like "Snö" and "Take Your Rocket," leading up to their upcoming album "Fyra liter stoft" in 2025.

Big Fish's music often includes lyrics in their native Swedish, adding to their unique identity within the Swedish rock scene. Their ability to blend diverse musical styles while maintaining a strong punk and industrial core has garnered them a dedicated following. Their recent releases continue to reflect their energy and creativity, tackling contemporary themes and maintaining their place as one of Sweden's most interesting and heavy acts.
