Phil Oakey is an English singer and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the synth-pop band The Human League. Born in Sheffield, England, Oakey co-founded the band in 1977 and has been its frontman ever since. The Human League rose to fame in the early 1980s with their hit singles "Don't You Want Me" and "Fascination," which showcased Oakey's distinctive vocals and the band's innovative use of synthesizers. Oakey has also pursued a solo career, releasing several albums and collaborating with artists such as Giorgio Moroder.
