Ex-Cult

Ex-Cult, originally forming in Memphis, Tennessee, is an American punk rock band known for their raw energy and aggressive sound. Emerging from the underground music scene, the band’s formation in 2012 marked the beginning of a spirited journey into the realms of garage punk and post-punk revival. With a lineup consisting of Chris Shaw on vocals, JB Horrell and Alec McIntyre on guitar, Frank McLallen on bass, and Michael Peery on drums, Ex-Cult quickly cultivated a reputation for their frenetic live performances and a no-holds-barred approach to music.

Their debut self-titled album "Ex-Cult" arrived in 2012, setting a solid foundation for their discography with its gritty sonic textures and punk-infused rhythms. The band progressively sharpened their edge with subsequent releases, achieving a notable highlight with "Midnight Passenger" in 2014, which showcased their ability to couple narrative lyrics with relentless punk instrumentation. Their most recent full-length, 2016’s "Negative Growth," produced by Ty Segall, cemented Ex-Cult's standing as connoisseurs of chaos, with tracks that manage to be both menacing and addictively tuneful. Teeming with dark themes and unapologetically abrasive sounds, Ex-Cult has made an indelible mark on the modern punk landscape, resonating with fans who crave unfiltered musical ferocity.
