Vladimir Ryabov

Vladimir Ryabov is a Russian composer born on September 15, 1950, in Chelyabinsk, Russia. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory, although he was expelled twice due to his non-conformist attitudes. Ryabov continued his studies at the Gnessin Institute in Moscow under Aram Khachaturian. His compositional works span a variety of genres, including chamber music, sacred choral music, organ pieces, symphonies, and more. Notably, his Symphony No. 4 is dedicated to the memory of Brahms. Ryabov gained recognition as a composer after winning the International Prokofiev Composers’ Competition in 1991.

Ryabov's music often reflects a deep understanding of classical forms while incorporating contemporary elements. His compositions, such as the "Symphony No. 4" and "Concerto of Waltzes," showcase his mastery over orchestral works. Despite facing challenges early in his career, Ryabov has established himself as a significant figure in Russian classical music, contributing to the rich cultural heritage of his country.
