Richard O'Neill is a Grammy-winning violist and chamber musician known for blending technical mastery with emotional depth. Born in South Korea and raised in the US, he's become a prominent figure in classical music, collaborating with top orchestras and ensembles like the Takács Quartet. His recent releases showcase his versatility, from Christopher Theofanidis' contemporary concertos to introspective solo projects like "Winter Journey" and reimagined works in "Lachrymae Repackage." Whether delivering fiery performances on "DUO" or exploring romantic textures in "The Romantist," O'Neill treats his viola like a storyteller—equally comfortable shredding complex modern pieces or breathing new life into classical favorites. When he's not recording or touring, he shares his expertise as a professor at the University of Colorado Boulder.
