Rebirth Brass Band

Formed in 1983 by the Frazier brothers, Phillip on sousaphone and Keith on bass drum, Rebirth Brass Band has been a New Orleans institution for decades, infusing traditional brass band music with funk, hip-hop, soul, and jazz to create a sound that is uniquely theirs and quintessentially New Orleans. Born out of the vibrant street music scene in their hometown, Rebirth Brass Band started by playing in the second-line parades and has since risen to international fame with their rousing, high-energy performances.

Over the years, Rebirth Brass Band has released an impressive catalog of music, with titles such as "Rebirth of New Orleans," which won them a Grammy Award in 2012 for Best Regional Roots Music Album, and the infectious crowd-pleaser "Do Watcha Wanna," which has become an unofficial anthem of New Orleans street culture. Their album "Move Your Body" (2014) exemplifies their ability to get audiences worldwide on their feet, while "25th Anniversary" (2008) celebrated a landmark year showcasing their enduring appeal and consistent ability to evolve. Whether they’re invigorating a traditional second-line parade or headlining a music festival, Rebirth Brass Band remains a symbol of musical innovation and the celebratory spirit of New Orleans.
