Grace Chang (葛蘭), born Ge Lan in 1933, was one of Hong Kong's brightest entertainment stars during the 1950s-60s golden age of Mandarin cinema and music. This multi-talented "Triple Threat Queen" dazzled audiences as a singer, dancer, and actress, blending sassy jazz vibes with traditional Chinese charm. Her upbeat dance tracks like "I Love Cha-Cha" (我愛恰恰) and "The Joy I Cannot Speak Of" (說不出的快活) became cultural phenomena, while dramatic film themes like "Wild Rose" (野玫瑰之戀) showcased her vocal range. Known for her fiery screen presence and pioneering fusion of Eastern/Western styles, Grace retired at her peak in 1964 but remains iconic – her music still gets remixed (check out that groovy "Love" rework!) and her films are considered classics of Hong Kong cinema's golden era.
