Tonic is an American rock band that formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1993. Renowned for their post-grunge flair and melodic rock sensibility, the band consists of Emerson Hart (vocals, guitar), Jeff Russo (guitar, backup vocals), Dan Lavery (bass), and Dan Rothchild (drums, though he was later replaced by Kevin Shepard). Tonic gained major airplay and a solid fan base with their debut album, "Lemon Parade," released in 1996, which featured the chart-topping single "If You Could Only See." This track not only solidified their place in the rock scene but also became one of their signature songs.
Over the years, Tonic has released several albums including "Sugar" (1999), "Head On Straight" (2002), and a self-titled album "Tonic" (2010). The group's music adeptly combines raw guitar-driven elements with heartfelt lyrics, a blend that earned them both commercial success and critical acclaim. "Head On Straight" garnered two Grammy nominations, showcasing the band's evolving musical prowess. Despite a brief hiatus, the band reunited and revisited their roots with "Lemon Parade Revisited" in 2016, a re-recorded, acoustically driven take on their debut album, celebrating its 20th anniversary. Tonic remains beloved in the rock community for their honest music and enduring presence, continuing to perform and release new material, including "If You Could Only See (25th Anniversary)" which celebrates their biggest hit.
