Blind Pilot

Blind Pilot is an indie folk band originating from Portland, Oregon, formed by Israel Nebeker and Ryan Dobrowski in 2007. Their journey through music started with a minimalist approach, as the two friends embarked on a West Coast tour via bicycles. This unconventional start marked the band with a sense of adventure and intimacy that would be felt in their music. Their debut album, "3 Rounds and a Sound," released in 2008, was a critical success and introduced their warm, acoustic sound to a wider audience, highlighting honest songwriting coupled with melodic finesse. The release of "The Jackpot Sessions 2009 - EP" gave fans a further taste of their evolving sound.

Blind Pilot's subsequent albums, "We Are the Tide" (2011) and "And Then Like Lions" (2016), saw the band expanding their sonic landscape and solidifying their presence in the folk genre. The band's members at various times have included Luke Ydstie, Kati Claborn, Ian Krist, and Dave Jorgensen, each bringing unique contributions to the rich, folk-infused indie rock for which Blind Pilot is known. Characterized by Nebeker's evocative vocal delivery and the group's intricate arrangements, their music often explores themes of loss, change, and connection. Despite long intervals between their releases, the band's profound storytelling and authentic performances have maintained a loyal fanbase eager for their warm, soul-soothing melodies.
