Code Orange

Formed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Code Orange is an American hardcore punk band known for blurring the lines between hardcore, punk, metal, and industrial music with a relentless intensity and innovative sound. Originally comprised of members Jami Morgan (drums, vocals), Reba Meyers (guitars, vocals), Eric Balderose (guitars, vocals), and Joe Goldman (bass), the band started out in 2008 under the name Code Orange Kids. As they developed their explosive brand, they shortened their moniker to Code Orange and released their breakthrough album, "I Am King," in 2014, signaling their arrival as a formidable force in the heavy music scene.

Code Orange's aggressive musical forays are often underscored by a thematic exploration of the darker side of human experience, with their work characterized by an unyielding ambition to push boundaries. Their fourth studio album, "Underneath," released in 2020, received critical acclaim for its bold experimentation and dense sonic layers, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance. The band's collaborations, such as "Take Shape" with the iconic Billy Corgan and "HPNGC" featuring JPEGMAFIA, reflect their versatile approach to music, infusing their hardcore heritage with an eclectic range of influences. Whether offering wince-inducing breakdowns, eerie electronic textures, or crafting the unsettling theme "WWE: Shatter" for Bray Wyatt, Code Orange continues to redefine the contours of heavy music, aggressively cementing their status as a vanguard of genre-melding innovation.
