Mumiy Troll

Mumiy Troll is a Russian rock band founded in Vladivostok in 1983 by frontman Ilya Lagutenko. With a sound often described as “rockapops,” the band's music blends elements of rock, pop, and alternative influences, marking a unique style that stood out in the post-Soviet rock scene. They gained wide recognition in the 1990s with the release of the album Морская (Morskaya), which played a pivotal role in revitalizing Russian rock. Lagutenko’s charismatic stage presence and distinctive vocals quickly became the band’s hallmark.

Mumiy Troll has remained a mainstay in Russian popular music through the decades, known for both their experimental approach and catchy melodies. They're also one of the few Russian bands with a global presence, having toured extensively outside Russia and even recorded English-language material. Staying true to their roots while continuously evolving, the band has maintained a devoted fanbase and continues to release fresh music, like entries from their recent "Vladivostok 3000" series.
