Rebeca Omordia

Rebeca Omordia is a British-Nigerian pianist known for her championing of African classical music and for bridging Western classical traditions with African art music. Trained in both Romania and the UK, she has forged a distinctive path by bringing the works of African composers—such as Ayo Bankole, Fred Onovwerosuoke, and Christian Onyeji—to global audiences. Her acclaimed album African Pianism and its sequel showcase her role in reimagining the piano repertoire through the lens of Sub-Saharan musical traditions.

Beyond solo piano work, Rebeca Omordia is also active as a chamber musician and has collaborated with top-tier classical artists. She is the artistic director of the African Concert Series in London, a platform dedicated to promoting African art music. Through her performances and recordings, Omordia is pioneering a broader appreciation for the depth and diversity of African contributions to classical music.
