Rick Hughes

Rick Hughes is a Canadian rock and metal vocalist best known as the powerful lead singer of the legendary heavy metal band Sword, formed in 1981, and the hard-rock band Saints & Sinners. With a career spanning decades and hundreds of headline shows across North America, Europe, and Japan, Hughes has built a strong reputation for his impressive vocal range and dynamic stage presence. He's opened for iconic bands like Metallica, Motorhead, Alice Cooper, and Bon Jovi, earning respect in the international rock and metal community.

In 2025, Rick Hughes released his first international solo album, *Redemption*, produced by John Webster (known for his work with Aerosmith and Motley Crue). The album includes standout collaborations with legendary musicians such as Brad Gillis, Rudy Sarzo, and Tommy Aldridge, who reunited from Ozzy Osbourne’s early 1980s "Speak of the Devil" lineup for the powerful single and video of The Who’s classic "The Real Me." The album also features renowned guitarist Robby Krieger of The Doors and contributions from vocalists like Lee Aaron and Amy Keys, making *Redemption* a unique blend of rock and metal with songs in English and French. Hughes credits his early musical influences to icons like Robert Plant and Ronnie James Dio, and his deep connection with music partly stems from his personal experiences growing up with the inspiration of bands like The Doors.
