Modular String Trio

The Modular String Trio, based in Poland, is not actually a trio in the traditional sense. The group consists of Robert Jędrzejewski on cello, Jacek Mazurkiewicz on contrabass and electronics, Sergiy Okhrimchuk on violin, and Łukasz Kacperczyk, who contributes with modular synthesizer. This setup allows them to create a unique blend of acoustic and electronic music, often resulting in texture-driven improvisations. Their music can range from spectral and uncanny to more mechanically processed sounds, showcasing a wide range of tonal possibilities. Releases like "Part of the Process" highlight their ability to blend traditional string sounds with electronic manipulation, creating a distinctive sound that sets them apart from more conventional string ensembles.
