Martin Wåhlberg is a distinguished cellist and scholar known for his expertise in both modern and baroque cello. He studied at prestigious institutions including the conservatories of Rouen, Trondheim, and the Conservatoire Supérieure de Paris-CNR. Wåhlberg has a special interest in eighteenth-century French music and literature, which has inspired various projects with Trondheim Barokk, including the critically acclaimed CD "Le Roman des Lumières" released on the French label K617. He has also conducted Orkester Nord across Europe and authored books focused on music in eighteenth-century French novels as well as on Jean-Jacques Rousseau. His research and performance work have garnered several Norwegian and international awards, highlighting his significant contribution to historical music performance and scholarly research.
