José Luis Estellés

**José Luis Estellés** is a Spanish clarinetist, conductor, and educator known for his dynamic performances and dedication to contemporary music. Born in Bétera, Valencia, he studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London and spent three decades as principal clarinetist of the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada (1991–2021). He’s premiered works by composers like López López, Zavala, and Soutullo, and his acclaimed recordings include *Fin du temps* (Messiaen/Takemitsu), *Bacarisse: Concertos*, and *Mozart & Weber: Clarinet Quintets*. A sought-after chamber musician, he co-founded ensembles like Grupo Manon and TAiMAgranada, blending classical works with modern pieces. Since 2021, he’s served as Professor for Wind Chamber Music at Cologne’s Hochschule für Musik und Tanz while maintaining his role at Spain’s Musikene conservatory, where he’s taught since 2001.

His teaching and performing career spans masterclasses across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, with recent projects like *Juan J. Colomer: Naturaleza Humana* and *Gabriel Erkoreka: Trío del Agua* showcasing his commitment to innovative repertoire.
