Arigato, Hato!

Arigato, Hato is a five-piece band from the Philippines, active in Manila's independent music scene from 2008 to 2009. The band is known for its unique blend of pop music, often described as "heart songs" that appeal to both humans and their "animal spirits." The band members are creatively represented as animal characters, with Cat Cortes as the singing cat, Ayon Sanchez as the koala on drums, Mikey Abola as the bee bear, Martin Tensuan as the panda on keyboards, and Joe Fontanilla as the anteater on guitar. Their music often features sing-songy melodies with an emotional punch, reminiscent of childhood lullabies but with an edge. The band's approach to music is organic and expressive, with songs often starting from Cat's compositions on piano or GarageBand, then developed by the rest of the band. Arigato, Hato has performed at various venues in Manila, including Saguijo and Route 196, and was working on an album during their active period.
